Per-side thinking
The calculator solves greedily from the heaviest plate down, per side of the bar — exactly how you'd load it. With a standard plate set the answer is always exact; with a quirky home-gym inventory it tells you precisely how short you'll be.
The warm-up ramp
The 40/60/80% × 5/3/2 ramp gets you to your working weight primed but not fatigued. Steps that would round to the same load are merged automatically, and nothing goes below the empty bar.
In the gym
A planned SwoleCraft Wear OS companion would show this loadout as you approach the bar, using saved gym inventory and preferred units without requiring a phone mid-session.
In the app
This math runs automatically on every set you log — no typing numbers into a website between sets.
